Self-Advocacy
(Self-Paced Online Training)
You can soar like an eagle when you know how to advocate for yourself!
Do you know what your rights in the public mental health system are?
What if you could talk to your doctor and case manager as an informed equal?
You will learn some assertiveness tips, what your rights are as a person with lived experience in the public mental health system, and who to contact if you need assistance navigating the system, if your rights are violated, or if you are abused, neglected, or exploited.
This is a self-paced, 1.5-hour, online training. It consists of three parts, each with a 20-30 minute video and a short knowledge assessment. You must complete the course evaluation in order to receive a certificate.
1.5 CEUs are provided for Mental Health Peer Specialists (MHPSs)!
